What would you like Lighting of the Moon attendees to know about you and your music?

I’m very passionate about my music and also breaking down cultural barriers. I want people to experience the world with their ears when hearing my music. I want people to journey and escape from what is going on in their lives right now and lose themselves in the music. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in an exotic place that you have never been.

Can you explain a bit about your creative process and what inspires your work?

I like to challenge myself with every track I create. I try to collaborate with a new vocalist or work with a new instrument on every song. I’m inspired by listening to different types of music from different cultures. Music is universal and I want to share music and instruments from around the world that they may not have heard of.

Considering the amount of music you’ve created both independently and with the likes of Stephan Jacobs, Desert Dwellers, Govinda, and Beats Antique to name a few, what are your favorite aspects of making music on your own and in collaboration with other artists?

When I work on music by myself I can really get into the zone and focus. I don’t have any boundaries and can really go deep. When working with others, I learn new things and it’s more fun with others around. There is a creative chemistry that happens when working with other artists that I really enjoy.

Are there any upcoming releases or projects we should keep an eye out for?

I have a new EP release coming out in early Aug called Primal. It features animal sounds, Tuvan vocalists, Bulgarian singers, Reggae, and more surprises. I’ll also have an EP from my side project, The Dub Kirtan All Stars (with FreQ Nasty) that will be out in September. The amazing vocalists Donna DeLory and Jai Uttal will be on the EP and I’m very excited to be working with them. I also have a tour this fall with FreQ Nasty and The Dub Kirtan All Stars that I’m really excited about.

If you were granted three wishes what would they be?
